The client is a top software and services provider in the US urgent care market, offering integrated healthcare solutions. The company sought a technology partner to help them consolidate two of their existing standalone products into a cohesive, unified solution. The aim was to optimize efficiency and streamline user experience. Simultaneously, they were looking for a provider to help them transform their cloud services to meet modern market demands. This transformation was essential for quickly adapting their solutions to remain relevant and effectively address the unique challenges presented during the pandemic era. Additionally, due to the nature of Protected Health Information (PHI), the platform needed to meet stringent HIPAA compliance requirements while maintaining strong security controls.

Considering the client's need to modernize its urgent care solutions, Encora chose AWS as the preferred technology platform. This platform offers multiple benefits, including scalability, cost-efficiency, HIPAA compliance, performance, and infrastructure-as-code. Moreover, the client was already using AWS to host parts of its product lines, making it the preferred choice for their modernization initiatives. With a foundation established on AWS for hosting, Encora bolstered ongoing product development through:

 

  • Cloud Migration: Established a robust cloud-based infrastructure for managing the migration of local data to AWS solutions, ensuring optimal data management and accessibility.
  • Platform Modernization: Transformed legacy systems into a forward-looking product suite, delivering modern, adaptable solutions for the client’s evolving needs.

  • Threat Detection & Response: AWS Security Hub and Amazon GuardDuty provided continuous threat monitoring, while custom Lambda functions automated remediation for security incidents, improving incident response times.

  • Identity & Access Management (IAM): AWS IAM Identity Center and Secrets Manager were implemented for secure access controls and credential management, ensuring least privilege access and minimizing unauthorized access risks.

  • Security & Compliance: AWS Config and AWS KMS were leveraged to maintain HIPAA compliance, enforcing automated security policies, encryption, and monitoring of sensitive healthcare data.
