A leading online-only auto auction platform sought to revolutionize the industry by applying its brick-and-mortar auction expertise to connect buyers and sellers digitally. However, the company faced significant infrastructure challenges. Relying on an overprovisioned on-premises server proved financially draining, resulting in frequent downtime--almost every 15 days. With time-sensitive auctions, high availability and smooth performance were essential. However, the single-server setup became the single point of failure, complicating issue diagnosis and resolution. Additionally, on-premises resource provisioning and application hosting made it difficult to scale operations and support business growth.

Approach
